GymACT Team
GymACT is a fairly new league of competitive men’s collegiate gymnastics programs. Created in 2018, GymACT was founded by the coaches of the six original programs that saw a need for an organized and structured league in which they could operate. In 7 short years, GymACT has expanded to a whopping 16 programs providing amazing competitive opportunities for post-high school gymnasts who want to continue their athletic careers after graduating from high school.
Minnesota became a member of GymACT in 2022, the year after the program was dropped by the university. With the goal of winning the GymACT National Title in 5 years firmly in its sights, the Minnesota GymACT Team accomplished that goal in 2024, a mere three years after entering the League.
Minnesota Men’s Gymnastics has a long history dating back to its inception at the University of Minnesota in 1903. One hundred and eighteen years later, the varsity status was stripped, but the program was able to continue at a high level through the existence of the GymACT League.
GymACT has evolved since its inception, and while the majority of its close to 300 Athlete members are college students, the eligibility requirements have been expanded to allow gymnasts who may feel better suited to a trade school or on a career path as a gymnastics professional (coaching and/or gym ownership). This flexibility has been instrumental in the growth of GymACT in the few short years it has been in existence.
