Frequently Asked Questions

Hi there! Have some questions about Foundation Gymnastics?

Find the answers below.

  • What can we expect of our child as a student at Foundation Gymnastics?

Our goal will always be to provide a safe and fun learning environment to challenge every kid that walks through our front doors. While gymnastics is a hard sport, learning the basics of body movement and understanding how the body moves and what it’s capable of doing because of that understanding is the cornerstone of what we’re all about at Foundation Gymnastics. Building a foundation of body awareness will be at the forefront of every class.

  • Who will be coaching my child?

Gymnasts and coaches from the Minnesota Men’s Gymnastics Club program (MMGC) and the Minnesota Gymnastics Club program (MGC) will make up the bulk of our staff, all of whom have years of experience in the sport of gymnastics. MMGC is the U of M competitive club team that is part of the GymACT League (www.gymACT.org) and MGC is a co-ed club team at the U that competes under the banner of NAIGC (www.NAIGC.net). Athletes from both  teams will be charged with providing expert instruction in the sport of gymnastics.

  • Who created Foundation Gymnastics and who is running the program?

Foundation Gymnastics came about from a need to find a space for the U of M Men’s Gymnastics team to be able to continue their training. Months of searching for an adequate space with the three dimensional requirements a gymnastics training facility needs (length, width, and height) found us here at the Fairview Business Center. This space also presented a perfect opportunity to develop a Recreational Gymnastics Program to serve the kids of the local area. The Friends of Minnesota Men’s Gymnastics is the non-profit organization that spearheaded the facility search and is currently engaged in the various  upgrades that will make this one of the top gymnastics training sites not only in the Twin Cities, but the entire state of Minnesota.
